How does the Guild Wars Trial work?

I'm thinking of buying one because I want to try Factions. I already have Prophecies and Nightfall. How does the trial work? Is it a new account or can it merge with my existing account? Can your character move from Prophecies to Factions to Nightfall or does the character have to stay in one campaign?

You can link a trial key to an existing account. You can transfer character between areas you have a full key for, but you can't transfer an existing character to an area you unlock with just a trial key.



A trial key becomes disables after 10 hours of gameplay or 14 days from the initial application of the key on an account, whichever comes first. You can only use one trial key per area per account.
